Kayla weighed 21 lbs 8 oz.. she gained a pound in a month!! Jeez louise kid!! She sounded good and everything else was well. She got her chicken pox vaccination and her flu shot. Now Jer and I need to get our flu shot- guess I should call our doctor here sometime soon!
Kayla is talking a lot now! She says a lot of words but some of them are hard to understand because she doesn't pronounce the b's or p's. She says doggie and kitty cat very well. She also knows a lot of animal sounds and just recently has shown Jer and I that she knows a few letters in the alphabet. She is a smart girl! :) She has come a long way since her evaluation this summer. Which I don't know if I mentioned but she did not qualify for speech therapy- and since July- she has grown soooooooo much!
She is still hard to feed.. one day she'll devour a grilled cheese sandwich but the next day she'll shove it away!! I waste a lot of food w/ this girl!! I do give her pediasure and just recently bought her some vitamins to help her thru this winter season.
I go back to work on the 4th of October- am I excited.. no.. but I can't wait to see some co-workers. I miss the adult talk.. and their company! Losing this post-baby weight I gained w/ Lily is proving to be quite tough as well. I'm getting a little discouraged but hopefully it'll start disappearing soon!
Good luck to all through the cold and flu season- I know we all hate this time of the year!!
Kayla is saying "Hi Lily"
Kayla reading to herself :)

Haha! LOVE that first pic of the girls together! Lily looks like she's thinking, "Mom?!?! What is she going to do to me?!?!" :-) So adorable! And I love the new pic of Kayla on the swings at the top! When did she get to be such a big girl???
As a fellow CDH mama, I was told that it may be a bit of a fight, but most insurances WILL pay for the Synagis shots if a kiddo is still under two before the RSV season starts. Even the "healthy" CDH kids like Kayla and my little one (who is 15 months now) still are considered to have chronic lung disease, etc., due to those underdeveloped lungs, so that should give you a good stance. Start with your pediatrician and if they cannot make a good argument, go back to your pulmonologist and they are supposed to be the next line of defense! Hope you get through to your insurance and she will qualify and most importantly stay healthy!
Love all the pics. I can't believe Kayla is 18 months. She is so darn cute. Lilly is too!
I would fight for the RSV shot. They are quick to say no bc it cost almost $3k for a shot. Its always about money.
I am a little nervous about the winter but since I am off of work i think I will be it eaiser
