Kayla Mae Olmstead

Kayla was born with Left-sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (LCDH). When she was born she was in the NICU for a total of 55 days. She reherniated two years later, had her repair surgery in May 2011 and spent 11 days in hospital recovering. She is a tough little girl and we are truly blessed to have her here.

Red, White, and Blue

Today, Kayla, Lily and I wore red, white and blue to honor those who have lost their life due to the 9/11 attacks 10 years ago.  10 years ago today I was in my freshman year of college in Cortland.. walking back from class when a friend yelled over to me to tell me that a plane just flew into one of the twin towers.. I remember trying to call my mom and dad for a long time.. they don't live any where near the city but I wanted them to explain to me what in the world just happened!!! Ugh! What a turning point in life... anyway we wore our patriotic colors today in honor of 9/11.

ps- daddy was at work.. wearing all blue.. :)

For Fun..

Bro-Stach...

Princess Kayla - saying 'cheese' but doesn't get the concept that you are also supposed to smile! ha

Fun ride with Papa- she LOVES the 4-wheeler! :)

and the 'BIG GIRL BED' .. she did GREAT her first night last night and nap today. Hopefully she'll keep it up and we won't have to turn it back into a crib! ha!! As for the moment- she ALWAYS wants to be up there.. she asked at 6:35 p.m. to go night-night.. hahaha

PS - some days .. she eats like a pig!! haha she is definitely growing as SOME of 2T clothes are quite tight.. :) I think the surgery was a success !! :) ha pray she never has to have another tho!!
