Kayla was born with Left-sided Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (LCDH). When she was born she was in the NICU for a total of 55 days. She reherniated two years later, had her repair surgery in May 2011 and spent 11 days in hospital recovering. She is a tough little girl and we are truly blessed to have her here.
Sweet Baby Kayla! These first days were very hard for your mommy and daddy seeing you attached to all those machines and not knowing what to expect. You were a fighter right from the start and showed everyone just how strong you are. With the excellent care from the doctors and nurses, your progress was amazing! You continue to amaze us every day! I love you very much, Kayla!
Hi! I found you through Carissa Keirsey's blog and I thought I'd stop by and say hi. So glad that Kayla has survived CDH!! I, too, had a CDH baby. He passed away in August of 2007.
I'm happy for you guys and I hope things get better so you can GO HOME!!! :)
Hi! Don't think you know us, but that doesn't matter. We just read your entire blog about your sweet baby Kayla. What a story! We are so glad things are looking up and we will continue to think good thoughts and hope that you ALL will soon be home. This is your great uncle Fred and aunt Judy in Mesquite, NV. (Our neice, Sharon, has been doing a great job of keeping us informed of Kayla's progress.)
